Nintendo knows it doesn't have to try very hard to make a console pokemon game cuz it will still sell like hotcakes.

Not nessisarily. Pokemon has better sales over other series on average, but it doesn't mean this is what Nintendo wants. Nintendo has been under pressure this year to increase Wii sales. They've even gone to cutting the price to try to increase hardware. A true Pokemon game will help rejuvinate the Wii. Main Pokemon titles are really good at pushing units. As long as it sticks to what Pokemon does well in the handheld games, then it can do well. Or, it's could be an MMO which, done properly, could over take WoW. Any other game will just make revenue; it would not be helpful to Nintendo's overall goal.

As this thread has shown, people will probably go out an buy a true RPG or MMP for Pokemon.

....

........

Console Pokemon has been decline in sales since the N64.  Look @ the difference between Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Battle Revolution.  If anything, a new Pokemon would likely not have sales that of Battle Revolution that if memories serves has sold 1.39 million units.  My reasoning for this is that only those who already have a Wii and Battle Revolution will be the ones to buy this game.

Pixel Art can be fun.

A Pokemon MMO would be ANY gamer's wet dream... it has the potential to be bigger than WoW if done right, but since this is Nintendo we're talking about, it'll never happen.

Hell, it's been 10 years and we're still waiting for a full fledged 3-D Pokemon adventure and not some crappy Stadium / Colosseum rehash that requires you to also own the lastest Pokemon handheld games to get the most out of.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I think you missed the idea of my post. The games you speak of, the Stadium games, will only sell as well (max) as the handheld games because they are meant to complement them. They have been declining in sales to due to the weaking of the franchise (as it's not as strong as it was when Stadium 1 game out) and poor design. A Pokemon RPG (not Collesium or XD) or an MMO could increase sales because they are more closely related to the well made handheld games. The only X factor would be how well the games could be put on a console. It might not do as well if the game is just a new RPG that could have been put on a handheld console. Again, all my post have been if the potential is maximized. I also suggest that Nintendo needs to make an MMO or RPG or it was a waste of resources.

Pokemon Snap 2. With the Wii Remote the controls would be perfect.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

For the most part a Pokemon MMO won't be done simply because it would create a competing Pokemon franchise to the handheld Pokemon games.  And Nintendo doesn't want anything to lower the sales of the best selling handheld franchise in the world.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

I don't think pokemon is fit for consoles. It's pretty much been a negative slope since the first pokemon Colosseum. They'd need to really step up their game if they head to the console again

Man I hope its a full RPG. That would be the best thing to happen to the Wii since Brawl.

I really think that Nintendo shouldn´t bother releasing another Pokemon for consoles unless they step up their game and make it a truly full blown rpg like the portable games. I don´t care if it is in 3d or 2d, just make it great. Personally I love the 2d overview perspective if it´s done well.

An actual Pokemon RPG on the Nintendo Wii could be monstrous if done right. With online battling and a 3D representation of the 2D experience, it would sell with a tail (75%) like Mario Kart Wii and have a huge opening, especially in Japan.

I wouldn't put it past Pokemon to have the game sell anywhere from 4.5 million to 10 million.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Maybe an full-fledged Pokémon RPG? Can I dream, right?

No you can't. It will be probably and half-assed game like the ones for Gamecube.

I'm still to find out why can't Nintendo make a proper home console pokemon title.
