Forums - Sony - Sony America scraps UMD-to-PSP Go conversion plans

Advance apologies for using harsh words in my very first post here but one must be INSANE to buy a PSPGo. It's RETARDED to believe that the PSPGo, lacking the UMD drive is someone a plus or an improvement.

Let me explain:

  1. You can easily add 16 GB or maybe 64 GB to your existing PSP-3000, just buy a card. My kids' have 8GB at this time but they can be easily upgraded.
  2. If you download your games you will NEVER be able to sell them as 'used' or at all.
  3. If you download your games you will NEVER be able to lend them to a friend.
  4. You won't be able to borrow games from a friend.
  5. You won't be able to play any of the games you already have on UMDs.

Sony should NOT be encouraged to eliminate the ability of purchasing games on physical media. Buy 3000's and let Sony know why.

The PSPGo deserves to go away.

Where would you find 64GB Pro Duos

"We were evaluating a UMD conversion program, but due to legal and technical reasons we will not be offering the program ((((((at this time))))))."

patience, my dear brothers. :)

I like how upgrade is in italics XD

"Where would you find 64GB Pro Duos?"

First came up when I searched seems to be a wholesaler:

I like how tedster rolls of the tongue XD

ot: what i meant was if the Go gets games for say 20 dollars instead of 40 dollars, it would be cheaper in the long run and may sway my opinion of the system.

not trusting anything that comes from that country,  got burned on ebay once and never again

I'm with you. My point is that they exist and, maybe in a year or so they will be available and affordable.

My main point is that buying a device that can't play software delivered on physical media is a VERY good deal for those who sell it and a VERY bad deal for the buyers.

It happens to be my view when it comes to downloadable movies or songs. Technology exists to migrate from 'disks' to some small, maybe fingernail-size cards that can hold movies, games or music albums. If you can't touch the stuff that you buy you can't sell it, you probably can't even return it.

Half of the movies that I watch are borrowed and my kids friends come over with their games and they have fun on the PS3. They could not have done that if the 30GB game was downloaded.

lol, i'm good with my current psp, i just don't see the point in buying it. It doesn't even support memory stick.

This reminds me of the GB Micro. I might as well buy the PSP 3000 since I can't find a blasted 2000 model
