Edge gave Demon's Souls a 9. :O

Isn't LBP the only other ps3 exclusive that got a 9+ from them?

Edit:

Yup.  Other Edge review scores:

LittleBigPlanet - 10
Metal Gear Solid 4 - 8

Uncharted - 8
Killzone 2 - 7

WTHHH

How did that stuffed mammal get more than Snake?!

because that stuffed mammal can dress like Snake

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

Edge halo ODST:

This is Halo. The near-perfect weapon balance, fantastic enemy AI, attention to level geography and gigantic tear-ups with hordes of nasty aliens are all here, a timely reminder of just how brilliant that basic formula still is. ODST doesn’t quite take Halo into unfamiliar territory, but it does show how robust and adaptable the core of the game is – and, more importantly, stands on its own two feet as a spin-off that’s better than the vast majority of original games. For that, it earns the right to whatever name it wants. [9]

So they are basically saying that they will give this a 9 because its the same Halo game.

So what was the need for a review then, once they saw the gameplay was identical to Halo3?

Also I thought Edge itself reserved the score of 9 for games that showed innovation in addition to being very good.

Where is the innovation if this is the same as Halo 3?

Of course Edge Magazine is all about innovation:

Patapon: 8 - The level of personality in the Patapons and their world makes up for any disappointments - and your involvement in their story becomes huge.

Patapon 2: 5 - An extremely unambitious sequel.

wait.....

Never been a fan of edge, anyway, but yeah, they are likely more halo-biased than anti-sony, also you have to consider, that they review cheaper version.

Ninja Gaiden 2 on the Xbox 360 gets an 8.

The fixed version without the bugs and balance issues that runs at a higher frame rate and higher resolution with new stages and new playable characters.... gets a 7.

Just read those review excerpts above... these are proper reviewers, grown up language and considered opinion.... Edge are the masters.

Since I don't live in the UK I can't dispute their articles, but from what I've heard they're usually pricise, articulate and give good arguments for the pros and cons of a game and generally very informative.

Their scores however... are completely inconsistence and extremely baffling at time, I'd rank Edges scoring metre as one of the worst in the industry not because they use the whole spectrum of score (which is commendable) but because their score never align other score from their very own magazine. That's just crap imo.

Edge gave Demon's sould a 9??? Was the game really that hard they have to copy other reviews??

Lol, an 8... still a good score.

OT: Wow they gave demon's souls a 9. I'm surprised.

It seems to me that American PS3 owners are obsessed with graphics, rather that whether or not a game is fun. Take Killzone 2, edge gave it a good score, (7 - which in edge terms means way above average), personally I would have gave it a 6 as it is a generic FPS with great graphics and i'm afraid a generic FPS with great graphics = a generic FPS. On the other hand Half Life 2 is a classic and got the score it deserved (10) - a game like Killzone 2 may have much better graphics than Half Life 2, but that doesn't change the fact it was a far inferior game.

MGS4 got 8 which is a very high score - and accurate in my opinion as although MGS4 was good, the pacing was far too slow and it simply wasn't as much fun as one would of expected. Again, great graphics but that means nothing if a game is quite tedious to play.

PS3 owners complain about Halos textures?? When will they learn that nobody cares, as long as the game looks ok then that's fine, it's the gameplay that counts. If textures were the definition of the quality of games then nobody would be buying Wii's and Mario Kart DS would be one of the worst games of this generation, wheras in reality it is one of the best.

Don't generalize. I'm not obsessed with it but it's always a big plus if a game has good graphics.
