Forums - Microsoft - 5th Year anniversary for (Me + XBL)

Wow. Is that really something to be proud of? lol
Thinking of the money I've had to spend just to play a game online usually makes me feel upset or ripped off, not joyful. :/

But a little about me, I've never played any mmo or any game for that matter that required monthly expenses because I firmly believe that after I purchase a game I should just be able to put it in and play for free. So yea, I was kind of limited to playing Diablo 2 for my mmo kick. What can I say? I'm a tightwad. haha.

Damn straight it is!!

ive been a member since late 2004. halo 2 drew me in and never let me go. Sadly ive had multiple accounts so my current one is only 2 years about to go to 3. :(

Long Live SHIO!

I'm at 3 years (ALMOST 4 year anniversary) and I really don't mind the expense, though I will note that I'm fortunate enough to make a decent living so that the $40, once a year doesn't hurt me.

That being said, 2007 was such good times on Live; I think I played Gears of War nightly with friends. Beer, and late nights...for an old guy like me (with a wife and child at home); those were good times escaping from the corporate America rat race.

I'll be three years in January. Good times!

I didn't own an xbox so I've only had live since Gears of War came out. Gears was actually my very first online shooter I believe. I know, I was late to the party. It was actually the original GRAW now that I think about it. And I thought that game was SO awesome. lol

Oh I remember playing GRAW as well. Me and a friend would always camp together with the gun that had the like semi-auto grenade launcher on it, too. Some good times on that game.

So I just noticed the other day that my tenure icon on my gamertag updated from 4 to 5.  As of about September 16th I am a 5 year Xbox Live veteran!  I can remember way back to that day in 2004 when I first got Live.  The first game I played was Rainbow Six and then Rainbow Six: Black Arrow.  Those were the glory days and are what really got me into online gaming on consoles.  5 years later and after the 360 update, I have accumulated the following stats for you all:

Current GamerScore26,695

360 Games Played88

Microsoft Points Purchased28,000 (yes that's $350 worth of MS points...)

Halo 3 Kills12,000

Call of Duty 4 Kills: (will update later after I check on my Xbox.  Definitely at least 20k by now)

Gears of War 2 Kills3,000 (least played and we all know getting kills in Gears is a lot harder than in Halo/CoD)

How long have each of you been a member of Live and what are some of your fondest memories?

Hey you - congrats on your *achievement* - LOLz.

I hit 5 years too a while back - and nearing 3 years on PSN.

I definitely agree with you - I don't mind paying for LIVE and I wholeheartedly enjoy the community.

^What is your gamertag? You should probably add me if your friends list isn't full

I have had live since day one on my 360 and didnt I have it on my xbox too (cant remember how it worked on the xbox) So why does it say 3 years on my profile? should be 4 going to 5 surely?

Not sure, but how long have you had a 360? I should actually be on year 6 because I went a couple months without it.
