This is what people have been waiting for right here. A nice price tag to go with a great console. To be honest, its hard for me to believe this will have a permanent impact. The same can and most likely will happen if their competitors drop the price significantly on their consoles in the months to come. Sony is doing phenomenal tho and im real happy about that

Are you saying PS3 will outsell the Wii worldwide in the week FFXIII is released in Japan? Cause it is released in probably the highest selling week in the US and Europe, which makes it very unlikely unless it manages to sell on par in these regions.

PS3 is closing the gap very quickly on the XBox 360. PS3 has outsold the XBox 360 by 700k consoles in the last 3 weeks an average of around 200k more PS3s sold than 360 during first three weeks of September since PS3 Slim @ $299.

The PS3 will never be outsold by the XBox 360 in worldwide weekly sales ever again.

The PS3 will steam roll the XBox 360 over the 2009 Xmas sales period and have the XBox 360 within its sight. The PS3 will overtake the XBox 360 in total sales very soon.

I wouldnt be so sure if I were you.

Anyway, the PS3 won't overtake the Wii in total sales that's for sure.

fixed. I think your right though. If PS3 had just dominated this gen like the last 2 then Sony wouldn't have had to try so hard to get sales and improve the console. I think being in 3rd place and losing big amounts of money will be good for Sony next gen when they plan out the Playstation 4.
