Forums - Sony - Design a control scheme for RE5:AV

hrm "testing" this with holding my Wii remote in one hand and DS3 in the other, it's cool at first but the analog being a little right kinda makes it uncomfortable after a while, likely due to my hands not being used to it, but my thumb joint kinda hurt after a while.

I really hope they make a "nunchuck" to go with the wand. The balance issues and not being designed to be played with one hand and still be comfortable over time seems like it could be an issue with DS3.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

What's RE5:AV?

So for a four player game you might need 8 wands?

which Wii boxing game supports 4 players?

even 2 players will be too crowded to be tracked by PS Eye.  i think most of the boxing games on PS3 that utilize motion control will focus on online for the multiplayer mode.

Well not necessarily boxing, any 4 player game in which a person needs two wands.

Also LAN gaming is still preferred by most over Internet gaming, Sony would be unwise to ignore that

i really don't think that will be an issue

no console can challenge the console king of party games.  if people want to play party games, they will go to the other console

that's not saying there will be no party games released on PS3 that utilize motion control

i believe those games will be designed in the way that you only need the wands (1 wand per person) to play them.

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

They've been able to move those tanks in that RPG demo, so i highly doubt that you have to hold the D3 in one hand.

The sony wand port of RE5

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

So Sony is not going for mass market appeal?  If so then they are not going to have much market penetration of the wand

I believe there will be second controller with analog stick.

let me put it this way...  it's not the "nunchuk" that makes the Wii massively popular.  it's the Wiimote and Wii balance board.

everyone seems to agree motion control is the best control scheme for shooting game.

i think that's the market Sony is going after, before Nintendo release the HD version of Wii.

in my opinion, it's quite smart of Sony only replacing the right analog stick with the wand so it's easier for the developers and the gamers can choose either way to play shooting games.
