i dont see wat the big deal is?? most games in Canada are over $80. Now u no why i always wait for a price drop for 10 hour games. But since this is an RPG it more than justifies a full price purchase. Still day one buy regardless

Outlawwauron on the box of the game is where I got the price. A lot of times the prices of games in Japan are posted on the box not always though but for Final Fantasy VI on Super Famicom it was on the back of the box lower left side 11,400 taxes included.
Better question where you get 6900 yen at?
The game came out in the USA and it cost $75.

Make sure you click on the Japanese one on the back of the box you'll see the price.
Oh wow. I saw it from a very old news article and they mentioned the price.
Thanks a lot for the source!
Also like to point out gotta love that Squaresoft back then put the prices on their Super Famicom boxes.
Romancing Saga 9,800 yen
Romancing Saga 2 9,900 yen
Romancing Saga 3 11,400 yen
Seiken Densetsu 3 (would have been called Secret of Mana 2) 11,400 yen
Chrono Trigger 11,400 yen
Seiken Densetsu 2 (secret of mana) 9,800 yen
Front Mission 11,400 yen
Final Fantasy V 9,800 yen
Final Fantasy IV 8,800 yen
Thats insane and crazy, ofc fans of FF in jp will buy it, but dont count it as so many as it could be. Shame.
In Great brittian its 50$ and here in nordic its 60. At most.
Doing some searching here we go and Final Fantasy VI actually cost more I thought it already had the tax included on the box 11.400 yen yes but after taxes 11,970 yen.
$ was stronger back then but if Final Fantasy VI came out today it would be $131 for Final Fantasy VI. Back in 1994 it was closer to around say $105.
Final Fantasy 13 is actually more than $90 now at the current rate its $101.69
My earlier posts for Final Fantasy series was just the retail price and didn't have the taxes included yet.

Wow i called this one like 6 months ago.
SE will raise the price of FF 13 to make up for lower sales.
Most big games are up there by that much in Japan
Super Famicom game prices were high period just not just to FF or DQ or rpgs but all games really ...
tax not included
Super Famicom launch games Nov 21 1990
Super Mario World 7,700 yen
F-Zero 6,800 yen
Pilotwings 7,700 yen
Mario Kart 8,600 yen
Star Fox 9,500 yen
Super Metroid 9,800 yen
Mother 2 9,800 yen
Super Mario World 2 Yoshis Island 9,800 yen
Donkey Kong Country 9,800 yen
Fire Emblem Monshou no Nazo 9,500 yen
Star Ocean 8,925 yen (with tax)
Super Mario RPG 7,875 yen (with tax)
Jeez, I bitch and moan about $59 games. There is no way I would purchase a game for $90 unless it was an extreme collectors edition or something like that. And then I probably still wouldn't do it.
No wonder why so many people hack their systems in Asia. I probably would too if I lived there.
