my grandma was a huge lottery person.. She had a book filled with the numbers of the past 30 or so years and she would use like a system or something to predict which one would show next. The lost more money than she won, but sometimes she won big, like 700$.
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... my parents won 1k once. That was after a long long time of scratching

my dad won some money on the lottery once, £2-3k. took us on a holiday, which was nice of him.
i've only played once or twice. but i won a camera & digital photo frame last winter in an online competition 
two years ago i won 6000 euros with "lotto"; btw how much did you win?
Did you know you're more likely to be killed by bees than win the lottery? I mean like the grand prize jackpot, not just scratch and wins. You're also more likely to be killed by sharks or get struck by lightning. Anyway, that's why I don't ever play the lottery, like all gambling you're likely to lose more than you win.

There is actually a strategy to increase your lottery winnings (though of course in the long run you will lose money).
Pick numbers that few others have. You'll win just as often (obviously) but when you do win it will be shared with fewer people. In particular, pick numbers with a pattern like 4,5,6,7,8,9 [people tend to not do this] or above 30 [a lot of people choose birthdays].

My parents play it, but I never will because you can't win. At least it's the UK lottery so some of the money goes to projects like the Olympics or in support of the arts.

allow me to argue civilly, if you will..
i disagree. if a man does not swim in the sea, he has zero chance of being killed by a shark.
if he takes appropriate caution when a thunderstorm occurs, he has an almost-zero chance of being struck by lightning.
if he plays the lottery, whatever his chances, they are significantly higher than for the other 2 events
