KZ2 hype-meisters really aasked for this...so while I don't really think there much to compare historically, since there wasn't much to debate, the fact remains that many hype-meisters were all for this beef pre-launch of KZ2. To add more fuel to this fire...many people posted riddiculously low estimates for ODST. The bottomline is that Halo FPS are the gold standard, just like WoW is the gold standard for MMO...hate it as much as you want...that's not going to stop the success of the brand.

KZ2 was so uber hyped it was crazy.

It wasnt quite Halo hype but it wasnt far off.

Problem is with the video "cheat" at E3 it made a lot of press without even trying.

It was BAD PRESS

Imagine Halo Kart, Halo Sports or Halo Fit

Anything with Halo in front will do 1000mil first day. I guess there isnt something better on the xbox. Hence the sales

Good thing I own a PS3. And what killzone2? have you tried resistance2 multiplayer? No?

That said, do you realize the stupidity in saying "I guess Xbots have nothing better to do on their system, so they just buy halo up when it comes out"

The last time I checked it has more games than the "other" system. /facepalm.

So what I'm taking from this thread is it's OK to compare these two games in every way except sales. Seems logical to me....

OT, I wouldnt expect anything less from a Halo title. Shooter fans love it. Its a well established and popular franchise. I have dabbled with Halo 3, but I prefer UT3 myself.  As for Killzone 2, its in a class by itself. It had decent numbers, but alot of people were expecting more from it, myself included. 

Are you talking about real life hype or internet (more specifically, VG forums) hype??? because it was far off...

I agree with you on the E3 video, i prefer that they do the "Agent" announcing (name and that's it) than what they did back in 2005...

The fanboys never rest, do they?  If putting Halo in front os something were a magical formula for selling multiple millions overnight then Halo Wars would have several million sales as well.  Just accept that it a good game and move one.  Quit trolling X360 boards.
