Forums - Nintendo - Wii SKU in UK to be replaced by Wii + WSR/WS1 & Motion +....(Rumor)

I would guess this is coming to the US, and the rest of Europe too. But because of stock issues, and the prominence of retailler price promos in Europe, they have to officially slash the price of the current Wii in US, but not in Europe. But around the world, the new WSR/M+ bundle will cost the same as the old WS bundle.

THATS MY GUESS OK.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

Around the Network

Give me a new color, stronger processor (for a slight upscale to 720p), WM+ built in to Wiimotes (it already is happening) and ill buy a Wii all over again. As long as i can trasnfer system data :)

Nintendo of Europe has said that they do not comment on rumors and speculation, in which they were referring to the rumored Wii bundle that includes a MotionPlus unit and Wii Sports Resort, on top of Wii Sports and a Nunchuk.

Apparently Nintendo's word doesn't matter to retailers, as many have already started taking preorders for this rumored bundled. Either Nintendo is playing dumb, or these retailers are set to be in a lot of trouble!

This is NoE that we're talking about here. Aka the people who told us that there was no DS redesign in the works like a week before they announced the dsl. It's also not like retailers start taking preorders based on internet rumours.

Alright. Then 4 bundles. because while the Mario Bros. Wii bundle would definitely move a lot of hardware, I was thinking more about how Nintendo can improve the third party gaming front.

A Motion Plus bundle would get more M+'s out there and make development for it even more approachable, while also appealing hard to sports and certain hardcore gamers, a Balance board bundle would have a simillar peripheral utilization effect, but also appeal quite highly to the new exercise gamers and a "hardcore" game bundle would just help to bring in that demographic that has predominantly gone PS360. If only Metroid Prime trilogy had utlized the M+ for improved shooting controls, it would have been the absolute most perfect shoe in for a bundle with an M+

How would M+ increase IR precision?

Because when you aim your controller too far to the side, it looses IR. But with M+ you can turn your controller 180 degrees and it reads it. It does that in REd Steel 2. You can throw your controller 90 degrees and instead of having aiming lock up, you just do a full turn. It would eradicate one of the main IR FPS complaints and be a great help at establishing more M+ FPS support.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Link says offer no longer exists.  And by the picture, it looks like it's just being sold for regular price and stores are throwing in the WSR title and motion plus.  Doesn't look like a repackaging of Nintendo's doing.
