This is a badmouth thread by an unknown member should be locked. All RROD goes into the RROD thread.

By the way, I didn't realize that there was a RRoD thread or else I would have posted it in there.  If you like, you can give

me the link to that thread and I will post it in there also, to satisfy your, whatever you want to call it.  Thank you.

The Xbox 360 Pro (20 gb) that I bought back in March of 2008, and regrettably sold to my brother-in-law 6 months ago,

finally got the RRoD virus, ironically,  while I was borrowing it from him.  I was playing the Call of Duty 2 demo, remembering

old times when I actually owned the game, when the system froze on me.  I turned off the Xbox 360, thinking nothing was

wrong, and went and got a milkshake from McDonald's.  I decided to play the CoD 2 demo again when I got back and turned

the Xbox 360 on, when, to my surprise, the Red Ring of Death had taken it over.  I had only been playing the demo for less

than 10 minutes prior to it freezing on me.

So, let's see, the manufacture date is, December 27, 2007 and I don't know what chip set it had, but the "number" is 12V---16,5A.

Anyways, I will be sending it in to Microsoft so it can be fixed, for my brother-in-law.  I did have a two year extended plan from the

store I bought it from so I wonder if I can just get a new one from the store?  I seriously doubt that.  Well, I am not too bummed

out about it.  It lasted for about a year and a half without any problems so I am content with that result and I look forward to the

Xbox 360 return from the afterlife.

@ bolded: I'm not trying to start anything, but I can't believe you (or anyone) could find this acceptable. When I buy any electronics, I damn well expect it to last at least 5 years. I don't know how in god's name microsoft was able to get away with this, and keep their fanbase. It's mind boggling.

anyways, @OP: sorry to hear about your (brother-in-law's) xbox. hopefully you'll (he'll?) get it back in no time. :)

Clearly this is punishment for going to McDonald's. I can't say you don't deserve it.

Anyway, based on the manufacture date it has to still be under warranty for RRoD, so it's just an inconvenient few days of waiting instead of a very costly service. Hopefully the next one holds up better.

Lol...I am going to have to agree with you on that one.  I was desperate for a milkshake and they were the only

place that had them that was open.

Badmouth thread?  Unknown member?  Huh?  How was I badmouthing the Xbox 360? And clearly I am a member of Vgchartz.

I did mention that I, REGRETTABLY, sold it to my brother-in-law.  So, I wasn't badmouthing the Xbox 360 for the RRoD.  I did

fail to mention that I intend to buy another Xbox 360, for myself, when I have the money.

I wasn't completely serious. I didn't see your thread as bashing at all actually (same with the 'unknown' part). I was joking a lil bit. Sorry.

Well, I guess I'm not too bothered by it, since it is covered by the warranty and I don't have to pay for it to get it fixed.  Now

if I had to pay for it, then I would be upset.  I feel that MS has tried to make amends by suppling the extended 3 year warranty

and fixing the Xbox's for free.  It has cost them a lot of money but I feel they are trying.

Oh, oops!  Now I feel bad for responding like that.  I didn't get the joke.  Sorry.  I don't post that much, so I don't get

some of the humor on here, quite yet.

Microsoft has definitely done well in solving RRoD, no doubt about it. And I'm looking forward to getting a 360 now that it's solved. But I don't understand how people can get RRoD 3, 4 or even more times and STILL stick with Microsoft.  oh well *shrugs*  it's all (mostly) water under the bridge now.

If Microsoft didn't have the PROD waranty plan then I wouldn't be as possitive about the 360 as I am. But when I gt PRoD they picked it up for free and I got a new one 2 weeks later, plus a free month of XBLive Gold. Most interesting was that the Microsoft employee that I had on the phone said I had a 10 year waranty. I don't believe that but it seems that I'm covered for a long time. So the compleet package that is the Xbox 360 is a great deal, because your getting a free waranty with it so that counts for something.

well get the elite it a lifetime warranty i think but yea my 360 is acting funny lately it not reading my game sometime so i haven't got on lately i just want to finish vesperia so i could play mass effect hehehehe
