Forums - Sony - AU:EB Games Says No Way To PSP GO

PS3 slim is actually IMO a improvement, less weight, less power consumption, less heat, bigger HDD and 100 euros cheaper.. I dont know why anyone would complain..

the loss of the ability to install other OS's though is a shame but I doubt many thought it was THAT important

Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous

Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5,  Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

EB games.....meh. But seriously, sticking a $450 price tag on a handheld is just inviting commerical failure.

^^ It costs $450 in australia?!

I just had to confirm that actually. $450 AUD which is ~ $394 USD

Holy crap, that's insane

Yup, we Aussies get ripped off big time. When the PS3 launched one of the sku's was over $900. Sadly the exchange rate has nothing to do with how consoles and games are priced down here.

Yeah, the price is insane - esp. with the current exchange rate.

Not too surprised EB don't stock this - its a definite slap to Sony. Remember that Sony gets sales from *retailers* buying units - and the biggest specialist games retailer in Australia just ordered 0 units.

I would still expect JB to stock this... because they stock everything. If they decided not too, then the GO would be a completely dead duck in Oz.

I didn't expect it to sell like hotcakes there when i looked at the price...

EB games website in New Zealand doesn't have the Go listed. Dick Smith Electronics website does, JB HiFi website does, some other stores who are more general retailers, but who also stock gaming consoles don't have the PSPGo listed on their websites.

Advertised price in NZ is between $480 and $490. PS3 slim is currently retailing for $580+ so there is a bit more daylight between the prices.

By comparison the DSi is currently retailing for $370 - $399 (depending on colour??), the DSLite for about $230 - $260 and the PSP3000 for $330.

Not really sure who's going to hand over the extra red (our $100 bill has red printing) for the PSPGo.
