I know, and i knew it was only a matter of time before someone mentioned it

I'm just not an RPG fan to be honest, if i was i would have given a shout out to Valkyria Chronicles and Phantasy star ect.

I do know that Skies of arcadia is good though, it won seece's best 6th generation game poll.

Theres lots of Sega gaming goodness out there that you should try........ Dreamcasts, Saturns and Megadrives are obviously dirt cheap now, the problem is, some of the above mentioned games are now very expensive (the installments of those games that were on DC, SS and MD) due to how rare some of them are becoming.

It would depend on the price and support.

From Sega - yep.

IBM/Intel - probably not

EA - They have NO properties that would temp me

Apple - not just no but hell no

intel IBM maybe.
quality speaks. but not if they didn't have games that interest me.

Well theres a few things I'd have to decide first.

1. I'd have to wait at least 6 months and see how good the consoles are. Are there any system problems like the RRoD or is it a pretty well made console.

2. It has to be $299 or less. I will never buy a console until it is $299 or less that includes consoles from Sony and Microsoft. I regret buying the PS3 at $600 ($650 in Canada) I shouldn't have even bought it till it was $399.

3. I'd want to wait till theres at least 5 or more AAA games. The other thing I regret about buying the PS3 so early is that for the first 8 months the only good games I played were Oblivion and Resistance. It wasn't until Call of Duty 4 that I really enjoyed my PS3. On a brand new console this could take over a year to get 5 AAA games.

4. It has to be popular. I don't want to buy a console that is selling horribly and will probably lose 3rd party support soon (looking at the dreamcast). Even though the PS3 is last place it has 3rd party support and great exclusive games because its sales are good (not as good as wii, but good).


If a new console can do all that then yeah, of course I'd buy. Well maybe not Activision. I have kind of a semi-boycott on Activision. The only games I'll buy from activision are ones made by Infinity Ward. I won't buy a guitar hero or a treyarch made Call of Duty or any new IP's unless they're AAA.

Didn't you break all these rules when you bought your PS3?

Yes I would. But in order for it to be compelling enough.... apple and EA would have to team up to get all EA stuff exclusive, with apples marketing and amazing hardware and itunes.....

It would be epic and I bet Microsoft would go straight nuts in defensive mode against apple if that were to happen.

They would say, forget this war against Sony and Nintendo,, its fucking apple!

Unlikely.

There would have to be some major killer app.
