Yeah that's some accomplishment barely beating the Wii. There's only so many times you can lower your console $100 (or more in the case of Europe) and get to sell more consoles than the 360 and Wii for a couple weeks until it drops into last again. Each price drop simply moves them further and further away from beginning to make any kind of profit on the hardware while software sales stay at abysmal levels.

By their next price drop, they will have lowered the price of the console by more than the Wii currently costs. They've, in effect, removed 33% of the full price the console started at in less than a year and it's still fighting to just be competitive.

Completed XBLA: 16 / 32
Completed Retail: 17 / 64
GS Completion %: 82.63%

The price drop began at the middle of the week. Next week sales will be higher.

I put 500$ cause :

500 $ dollars US = 500 E euros
in term of console price.

It is not the classical conversion but it is the effective conversion that applied here.

If everything sells at exactly this rate forever, so the PS3 keeps closing the 1,826,162 gap between it and the Wii by 2,794 each week, then the PS3 will actually pass the Wii in Others in only 653.6 weeks, or 12.6 years.

Also, if the Wii keeps chipping away at the 360's lead of 230,796 by 32,789 each week, the Wii will pass the 360 in Others in only 7 weeks.
