Bite your tongue! The last thing we need is yet another console. I'm a huge fan of there one day being a unified platform on which all games would play.

lol PC 2

Sure, if PC2 sold (new) for $299.

I posted this last night before going to bed so haven't had time to respond.

I'M VERY CURIOUS:
If EA HAS to publish it's games on all consoles, then WHY were they allowed to say:
"F|_|CK YOU SEGA!!!", and not release games on the Dreamcast!?

I also don't think they'll release a console, but it is a possibility. Hence the thread.

would suck if thread ended before I could even respond but that's life eh.

Let's see... their biggest titles like Madden and FIFA can't be exclusives due to contracts. They are deep in the hole right now just developing software for the current gen. Their next biggest titles aren't system sellers. The biggest 3rd party dev (ActiBliz) is their biggest competitor and wouldn't support their hardware. They'd have to pay for their own advertising insteadof having someone else pay for them.

No. Way. In. Hell.

They didn't have exclusive domination at that time.  Sega had their own line up of BETTER football games as exclusives, now that's not an option.

well if Madden still obtains the rights to NFL, then that is a huge blow to PS3 and 360. But Sony already has alot of first party sports franchises. I know they have basketball and baseball 1st party.

Microsoft relies much more heavily on third parties and therefor on EA.
If EA did enter the console market (even though this makes no financial sense), then both Sony and Microsoft would have to scramble to fill the void in sports franchises.
Golf, Hockey, College Football, Pro Football, Boxing

But Microsoft would have a higher hill to climb.

Oh apparantly all of the sports franchises have contracts that they must release on all consoles, well that makes things boring doesnt it

̶3̶R̶D̶   2ND! Place has never been so sweet.

if they do (which i sincerly hope they dont) then it will most likely be an ONLIVE type of console

Long Live SHIO!

EA can not enter the console race because the name EA doesn't fit well for a console name.

Not that they have the resources either, neither the money or the noledge.

If they seriously wanted to do this they would be better off in a consortium and thus making all their games consortium exclusive.

Problem is the existing players are renowned for an inability to play nice.

Sony and Nintendo tried it once. Didnt work

Can EA afford that?
