If you spent less time worrying about capital letters in your titles and more time considering what you're posting, you'd have realised that snackable games will most often weigh in at a few dozen MB and normal games from a few hundred MB to a gig or so, versus a movie or selection of music playlists that will weigh in at several gigs.
Sony (and Apple, although that's entirely snackable, rather than console-focused) are just spearheading a new direction for the industry.
It would be beyond foolhardy if Sony waited until 2012, let alone 2020, to start making inroads with this DD business model.
