Ahem, the District 9 is loosely/partly inspired by real District 6 that used to exist in apartheid South Africa. Poor black people in that slum were evicted to make way for housing meant for middle class white south africans. This happened in the 1970s.

I thought Distric 9 was an awesome movie but I can understand how someone who is Nigerian or of Nigerian background can get offended.

They dont owe Nigeria an apology. Its a work of fiction. Do Nigerians not understand that its not real? Or just hit to close to home? Just looking for attention? Are they in denial that there is much corruption and exploitation in Nigeria? (like other places)

I really hope no apology is issued, as no wrong was done. Long live free speach.
