Ahem, the District 9 is loosely/partly inspired by real District 6 that used to exist in apartheid South Africa. Poor black people in that slum were evicted to make way for housing meant for middle class white south africans. This happened in the 1970s.

The Nigerians had nothing to do with that as well as the slums in South Africa.

I thought Distric 9 was an awesome movie but I can understand how someone who is Nigerian or of Nigerian background can get offended.
