100% no. If the boxart was attriactive, interesting or leveraged a know quanity (as in your mockup) then it would do it's job of increasing the odds of me checking out the title.

But buy on the boxart alone? Nope.

BTW - to be clear I'm assuming that the title is not one you'd be buying anyway. For example I will be getting Half Life EP3 or Uncharted 2 no matter what the boxart looks like.

Anyways, I was just wondering what people would say. When I was a lot younger I used to go to ToysRus, flip the plastic covers up and read the back. Then buy the game and that was it. We had no other way of knowing which games would be good and which would be bad. We also rented video games, but we typically never bought the ones we rented.

If it wasn't for this website I'd probably still buy most my games like that with only minor input from online

I've done it ONCE.. it was a racing game for the PS2... it was like motor storm except.... rubbish, and 4 years too soon.  I think my brother stole it and traded it in, because it went missing one day...  asshole.
