Would you buy this game based on the boxart alone?

100% no. If the boxart was attriactive, interesting or leveraged a know quanity (as in your mockup) then it would do it's job of increasing the odds of me checking out the title.

But buy on the boxart alone? Nope.

BTW - to be clear I'm assuming that the title is not one you'd be buying anyway. For example I will be getting Half Life EP3 or Uncharted 2 no matter what the boxart looks like.
