Sony has so far put out 4 platforms, the PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3.. (this is not counting the PSX)

these 4 platforms have been in the range from 1994-2009 and currently 3 of em are still getting games! (PS2, PS3, PSP)

The Playstation brand sells on average per console SO many units its outrageous

PS1: 100M units (sold by March 2004)

PS2: 128M units (and still selling approx 60k a week)

PSP: 51 million units (still selling around 450k a month)

PS3: 24 Million units

Please note: only 1 of these consoles has been taken of shelves yet and all of these numbers are Minimums!, theyre rounded down and I am fairly sure the PS2 sold more (by about 3-5m)

the average sold per playstation platform:

75.75 million units (303 : 4)

that is HUGE!

Anyway, you want thoughts?

1. The PS1 "won" the console war and then had no competition for a few years.

2. The PS2 "won" the console war and then had no competition for a few years.

3. The PS3 has sold the LEAST of the current gen consoles and doesn't look like it will "win".

*I'm sure we won't get people like "Carl" in here with his usual brash attitude making any negative comments. God knows how he earnt his "blue stripes*

thats a very 1 sided way to look at it.. I might only own a PS3 but I am definetly not a fanboy.. I said Selnors Forza 3 video's were amazing but him creating a new Forza 3 graphical video every 3 days is getting a bit insane.. I dont think thats fanboyism its more likely to be common sense, also this is not fanboyism its pure fact.. I am not saying PS3 will win this gen, im not even saying it will surpass Xbox 360..

It may be one sided, but I assure you things were 100 times worse during "Killzone 2", "GT5 Prologue", "Little Big Planet" and "MGS4".

With those games you basically had people creating threads for the sake of creating threads. With the likes of "I'm so psyched for...." type chiildish nonsense. It annoys me that people who have been around here since those times have conveniently forgotten this.

The only difference being in this case it's an Xbox 360 exclusive. I can only assume some fanboy blood in these complaining members.

lol I was here during most of those games releases and it was pretty insane but I did not think that was right either and I would never say so.. but even if I would have the hype around HD system exclusives is completely off-topic, instead of leaving I would rather hear your thoughts :)
