Forums - Gaming - Which system is the loudest/quietest?

I'd have to say for me, my Wii is the quietest, my PS3 Slim is next, and then my X360. The loudest is of course my PC.

Really? I'd say my 360 is louder then my PC, even with all the fans.

My 360 and my PS3 have not made a sound since I got RROD and YLOD ;D

When I owned a X360, it did so many noise when reading data from a disc that it ressembled a plane taking off. Seriously.
The PS3 has the quietest drive from all three consoles this generation, but it's fans are about as loud, if not more, than the X360.
The Wii does some stupid, pointless noises when reading a just-inserted disc, much like the GC. I never had such issues with any other consoles, so I wonder what happens there.

it use be ps3>xbox 360 as far as noise for me, but i just exchanged my ps3 for the slim model so now the 360 is the loudest.

@Scoobes Yeah, its weird. I noticed the drive makes a lot of noise too. That could be the cause.

I game.  You game.  We game.

I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.

Out of all that I own, Wii is probably the most quiet one and PS2 (original one) is the loudest one.

From Loudest to Quietest in my rack of consoles...

Xbox360>PC>Fat PS3>Wii>Slim PS3>PS2

If 360 disc is installed on hdd, then switch PC and Xbox 360.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

PS3 is quiter by a mile then 360, no idea on the wii in comparison but its quiet.

Oh well, technically my PC is the loudest because when its on, you hear its ventilation fan running wherever you are. And I live in house.
