Same thing happened in my class - we ignored the opposite sex for a couple weeks and even after that it was quite awkward.

I remember our sex ed. Birth was only shown through pictures, and we mostly practiced with putting condoms on mock-up penisses and read sex-themed lettres from some teenage magazine. You should have seen the look on the teachers face when one of the lettres detailed how a boy would get aroused when he'd stuck a cuetip in his peehole. And wether that was normal... oh man...

But our teacher was pretty modern and knew we had a pretty vast collective knowledge about sex. During regular biology we would already discuss such issues as the peepshow, what a normal amount of cum is and what women could do during their period to lighten it.

I actually saw the birth video in 10th grade, the teacher turned it down, it wasn't SO bad.  But the video was a bit too late for many girls at my school, there was like girls pregnant in Middle school which I found absurd, but apparently my county had the highest teen pregnancy rate in America at the time.

Middle school here is 12 - 14 so yeah WAY too young, I mean there was a 10 year old pregnant girl here...
