Forums - Gaming - Turbine: EASIER to develop MMOs on Xbox 360 THAN the PS3!

Its not just the technical challenges that need to be looked at though. I was under the impression that X-box Live wasn't ideally suited to MMO style games due to the restrictions of it being a losed system. Sony allow a lot more when it come to PSN, giving developers more freedom. I was also under the impression the MMOs would be quite installation heavy (I know they don't have to be, but surely its better having the majority of the game on a HDD then on optical?) meaning the disk speed issue shouldn't be such an issue. And don't the 2 HD consoles have a similar total amount of RAM?

But yeah, PS3 harder to develop for, so making it the lead makes sense.

Hey, developers don't want challenge? Then you shouldn't be developing.
It makes me laugh when developers won't work on PS3 because it's too hard, that is the point where you know you have bad developers.

er no...

thats an illogical response.

it doesnt make them bad... it makes them developers who have an eye on budget and time constraints... its called business.

If your refusing to develop on something, and your answer is "it's too hard" then maybe you shouldn't be developing.

No one said it's easy, but when you say something is "too hard" it shows laziness IMO, also shows you are too lazy to learn anything new.

What your saying is like chaining a basketball player to a 50 kg weight and telling them to play....and them obviously complaining  by saying "its too hard"because it is UNESSESARILY harder for them to play.

You are not a developer(nor am I) and you have no idea how hard it is to develop games. If sony actually cared about developers they would have made a system with devs in mind and not put in features for bragging rights.

This is sony's fault no one elses.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

I don't agree with it all. There is a number of factors they don't take into account. For instance the spus and harddisk helping with streaming which makes it easier to stream games on a ps3 than a 360 as evident by uncharted and the pop up difference in gta 4. (the later which is a game that requires a install, but uncharted does not)

Check out my game about moles ^

and yet there are FAR more MMOs in production for the PS3...

So why does PS3 have more exclusive MMO's then? thats kinda ass backwards.

Oh, because it's Sony's fault they made a tough console to develop on? Because a challenge is sooooo hard, right? Espescially for a developer, RIGHT? Because developers shouldn't learn how to develop on different consoles, right?

Oh i saw the picture now, well thats only obvious so ... uhm... lolwut?

Kid, give it up. You're a Sony fanboy, you don't see straight, you're freaking 15 for crying out loud, you know nothing about developing, period!
