Forums - PC - Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online Discussion

So I made a thread probably about a year ago about an MMO that had certain elements that anybody could recommend. So at that time, one of the recommendations I got was this game, but I didn't really play much past the introduction. So yesterday I started it up again, and I just would like to say that it is just what I like in an mmo. The Quests have story to them, and aren't just mindless killing to get some X amount of items. You are giving a reason why. The battle system is pretty much the same thing you find in other Shin Megami Tensei games, yet it is the first I've played that was traditional turn based so that is refreshing for me. I also love the Demon aspect in Shin Megami Tensei games. It keeps me going because I always love to perfect demons much more than boring stats that show very little aesthetic change. So yeah I'm enjoying the game, and wanted to know if anybody else likes it or doesn't. Btw the game is free and you can download it off many websites. The main download is only a GB so it shouldn't take to long too download for anybody who wants to try it out. Btw my username is stefanoukan if anybody wants to add me or something. I am still a noob, so I'm only at level 10 with a Brave Garm as my strongest Demon. Trying to aim for  a king frost eventually. They are the best .

It's definately  not the best MMO or even Free MMO, but if you are a fan of the series you will most definately like it.

Anybody else play this game? *sigh* My best threads always fail. :( I guess the game is too niche.

I played it for the first two days when it came out, but I couldn't get into it - I hate MMOs. The thing I disliked was talking to demons. You talked to them, and then they would run around. Though, the plot seemed pretty interesting. I might give it another whirl just for the story.

I've been interested in trying this out, since i love the SMT-universe and the demons, but I'm scared of being hooked too much to it if it requires too much grinding like WoW.

I played around in the beta for a few hours. Wasn't very interested in it.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Hmm, so this is free. I thought it had monthly fee.
Are there European servers as well or am I going to have to try this on US ones?

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

That's a fun game. I got sick of it around level 30 though....

leveling up is a bit slow... when I really wanted to do was fuse new monsters and try em out.

Eventually I just played the weekends when it was double exp or no death penalty so i could fight out of level enemies.... eventually i just got sick of the grind.

Guns are overpowered too... at least early and mid game.

It is free. You can buy extra items though which probably add a lot to the after main quest content and over-powerful weapons which from what I hear is pretty sub-par in the amount of content there is. I don't know about European servers.

@SMT Unfortunately there is tons of grinding involved. The grinding in this is very different from that you find in WoW though. It is more inline with the console JRPG where you kill tons of enemies. In WoW, the main area to level up in is Quests. Basically this game feels very little like an MMO. It is more like a multiplayer JRPG. You have a main storyline and some side quests where you can team up with other players to do really. Nothing that will keep you stuck to like the average MMO. I guess that is why I like it though.
