Forums - Sony - Questionable marketing for PS3/Uncharted 2

If you guys visit IGN or GameSpot, I am sure you've noticed the ads they have run on those websites.

The ad is first advertisng the PS3 and then the Uncharted 2 demo

All I can say is I hope they give Uncharted 2 it's OWN advertisement space and dont make it split time with the PS3. Uncharted 2 deserves it's own ads.

Now there is also a second blunder. The ad is showing "Play with the developers" and shows pictures of random people from Naughty Dog that no one knows of. Shouldn't they have used that space to show Nathan Drake, Chloe, Elena, the bad guys, etc to actually promote the game???

and the ad doesnt even say "IN STORES 10/13/09"

Well, Nate is heading the PS3 adverts. The slim PS3 adverts feature Nathan Drake prominently. They know that anyone with a PS3 who reads these kinds of sites knows about Uncharted, they are trying to appeal to new users with these adverts

At least there is some advertising this year

@munkeh111

what PS3 adverts are you talking about?

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Appeal to new users by showing Evan Wells and the Naughty Dog crew???

Nobody knows who those guys are, and I highly doubt most people care to see them.

I agree that atleast they are advertising now, but if you're going to spend thousands of dollars on ads, shouldn't they atleast put a release date on the ad to let casuals know when the game is coming out?

Not everyone reads video game msg boards.

The Ps3 DOES EVERYTHING.

Nathan Drake not so much, although he can twitter.

I think Uncharted 2 will only benefit as being show as THE GAME for the best console.
