Euronics, a large electronics chain, has regular ads about their recent TV offering, LCD and plasma in the daily newspapers here in Sweden. In every ad the last months there have been a 28" Grundig 50Hz, no-frills non-flat TV, for €400.

Today I couldn't take it anymore. I had to call them up and see if it was a typo or a practical joke or something. But it was real and the clerk said they sell pretty good. I said it sounded really pricey for a "thick" TV and he countered with "free delivery to your house"...

i bought a €250,- non-flat tv, 80 cm (dunno the inch) last summer, so yea.. its really pricey what you got

you sure it's a sdtv? it could be a hd crt tv, still pricey for the size... and i've never heard of the brand, is it big in europa?

It's SD, no question about it, SCART etc. And Grundig is quite big in cheap home electronics. Or at least used to be, I don't know any figures though.

That's more like 31-32". 28" used to be the biggest CRT size before the plasma/LCD craze and anything over that had/has quite a bigger price tag.

I sold my old SDTV (22" I think) two months ago for €20. Never watch TV anyway, and my Xbox is at my girlfriend's house.

OK, I admit I do watch TV at her house when Mythbusters is on...

Damn. We bought a 32" SDTV for about 400 USD two years ago as a hold over until HDTV prices dropped.

You guys really do get ripped-off. That's much more of a rip-off than the $399/€399 ps3 pricing.
