-since there was no bad comments about Xbox360/Wii in my post.
-since I was only talking about PS3 as we are in a PS3 targeted thread.
-since I m only saying that if the PS3 is selling now with her average content, it should sell even better when better games will be released
-since I was just stating that if people buy a PS3 it is because "they believe in Sony" because, right now, the PS3 is not the best offer on the WW market.

Where is the problem ?

Good news for sony

A 178% increase is great, but its coming from a console that wasn't selling well. By VGchartz, PS3 sold ~6700 the week ending 0ct 7. That would mean the increased sales would be about 18,800, significantly below normal wii levels and halo-boosted 360 levels. Which is not so great considering the great values in those deals.

Yeah this isn't good news for PS3. 360 jumped 260% with a lower price cut in UK. These sales are lackluster.

PS3 is just in a world of hurt.

Should start a trend of higher sales---PES next week should keep the number up, then the holiday shopping season is starting. I don't know if the #'s will really drop much until after the holiday season. Good news for Sony. (Especially since it's the UK--rest of Europe will probably be even higher %'s)

Next week we should see a Japanese boost and then early November a US boost. Sony may be starting a trend of great sales until early next year. They picked the perfect time to drop the price--in the calm before the holiday storm.

 It also seems from past trends that when consoles see a large jump from AAA games, the console sales jump dramatically but seem to decline down to the old average sales after a few weeks; whereas, after a console price drop, the sales seem to stay at an elevated rate over previous averages.

 Don't forget that the 360 SHOULD have a higher sales % jump, duh...it had a price drop AND Halo 3 release (AAA)...that definitely would be better than simply a price drop with no new games on another console.  (I'd hope).
