For example look at AC/DC's Back in Black Album. It never hit number 1 in America and yet its shipped over 22 million copies there.

Again hitting number 1 is great, but it really doesn't mean the album will go on to sell anything remarkable in the long term.

To be fair to Jay Z Elvis had a 40 years headstart when It came to selling records.

THIS! You Wanna know why Jay-Z is better than Elvis musically? For one simple reason. He transcends his genre of music. He can work with anyone or any type of music without compromising his skills or his values. Linkin Park, Radiohead, Paul friggin McCartney, MJ. You can't insult the man like that you may not like him but you will respect him!
