I think it's kind of stupid to say that the zapper limits the game play and use of buttons.

First of all, no buttons are actually hidden behind any plastic. Look at the possible use of the buttons, shall we?

Motion sensing - First of all I want to point out that the IR and motion sense is not the same thing. Why would you not be able to use the motion sensing with the zapper?

A-button, D-pad, +, -, 1 and two - Well, let's say you switch weapon, reload, heal, etc. YEAH!

C and Z - Hm, heard of secondary shells, zoom, granades?

Bah

The problem is that it's extremely awkward to press any of the Wiimote face buttons with the Zapper.

It'd be much easier to just use the Wiimote & Nunchuk.

The Zapper doesn't do anything that the Wiimote & Nunchuk don't.

Is it suppose to be easier?

ah yes, but what game will have you using the zapper while standing on the balance board... that way they can sell you even more **** you don't need... *sigh*

the guncon looks cooler anyways =p

Actually, I'm pretty sure a number of people would be pumped to see a new Time Crisis game using exactly that mechanic.  Plus, those are the people who would probably be devoted enough to the genre to purchase both peripherals in order to play it...

Hates Nomura.

^^^ you're probably right

I think it's it's not broke dont fix it, - personally I love the wiimote / nunchuck normal combo for FPS / on rails games and Red Steel was a huge awakening for me thinking this is how all FPS should be played.

The Zapper, however is a perfect peripheral for mums etc who see their kids playing with the wii at holdiay seasons to think this is easy where the wiimote / nunchuch may put them off and it'll succeed for that purpose, the reality I can see it having no long lasting appeal. Still cant wait to play LCT, Ghost Squad and REUC though

Those people that think they're perfect give a bad reputation to us who are...

"With the DS, it's fair to say that Nintendo stepped out of the technical race and went for a feature differentiation with the touch screen, but I fear that it won't have a lasting impact beyond that of a gimmick - so the long-lasting appeal of the platform is at peril as a direct result of that." - Phil Harrison, Sony
