Third ad is the charm. When three retailers are having the same special, I think we can stop calling it a rumour.

intriguing. Interesting how 3 companies (Target, Walmart, & Toys R Us) now have price cuts lined up. Maybe this will help them break records over Christmas this year.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Pretty much confirmed now. Although, why is all this news coming from Kotaku and nobody else?

I call fake. I also think the world is flat.

Well Nintendo is still right with their "no pricecut currently planned"

Guess that will change in a few weeks.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Well, Wii Fit + will be released on October 4 so maybe it will help the push a bit

I think we have a repeat of the Sony situation here (leaks/rumors/premature confirmations). If this proves true, which looks more likely by the day, good for the industry.

Honestly though, I don't think the Wii really needs a price drop, it STILL sells boatloads at $250, nearly 3 years later. That's a notable feat all by itself, never mind that the damn thing is the fastest selling console in gaming history...

Nintendo = BEASTS!

And perhaps there will still be a $250 pricepoint only with new bundles and colors. That would REALLY boost sales.

Now Italian GS cutting:

Confirmed 100%. I wonder if there'll be a $250 bundle too though.

This is from another thread, but it adds more to the idea. Seems to all be leaking out now.

Too bad Nintendo themselves couldn't surprise the stores with the cut. They did far better than either Microsoft or Sony in trying to hide it up to now.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Unfortunately Wi isi just about to fall behind DS pace in the cming months unless the price cut has something to do with it =(.

It must be hard for price cuts to be kept secret since retailers need to know in advance so they can begin printing their ads. I'm surprised Nintendo managed to hold off leaks until 2 weeks before the cut (if the Sept. 27th drop is to be believed which all ads are saying). Much better than Sony's fiasco with PSP go and PS3 slim which put ah uge dent into sales.
