I make a sumary :
A big french retailer (FNAC) has released 2 news offers for the Xbox360.
You were able to pre-commad them for the 2 november 2007.
NOW, Microsoft has saied "it is bullshit and the offer is off".
I still give you the 2 packs :
Xbox 360 Arcade :
Xbox360 console + HDMI output + 5 games XBLA + Vivapinata demo + Surf's Up demo + 1 paddle cordless + 1 memory card of 256mo + 1 cable A/V + 1 cable ethernet + 1 silver "abonnement" for Xboxlive
==> 279 euros

Xbox 360 Premium Value Pack :
Xbox360 console + HDMI output + Forza Motorsport 2 + Viva Pinata + 1 paddle cordless + 1 cable AV-HD + 1 ethernet cable + 1 peritel adaptator + 1 silver "abonnement" for Xboxlive + 1 harddrive of 20Go + 1 headset
==> 349 euros
NOTE : the 40gb model or the Xbox360 Core are not supposed to be the best offer for gamers.
They are supposed to reduce the entry price (280$ and 400$) to allow people that are really borderline to buy the console.
Time to Work !
it shows the games that are full version then PLUS 5 trial games. When there is a plus, that means in addition to.
So here is what you get: 5 games and 5 demos.
Kotaku dropped the ball on this one.
honestly it's shocking they don't just include demos for ALL xbla titles and such, what's the harm?

you can get demos of about 75% of all the PSN games for free, XBL is just nickel and dimeing the hell out of you anyways... that's crappy.

I wish instead of the Arcade SKU Microsoft would have just gotten rid of Core SKU and lowered the price of the Premium by $20-$30.
Hey Viz, nice way to trollbait the thread.
Atleast us X360 owners get vastly more on XBL, rather than the 5 games you have on PSN.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
| GranTurismo said: The 40gb unit is a gimped piece of shit and not worth my money. But the 40gb unit still gives you PS3 gameplay with a HDD, while the 360 with no HDD is gimped beyond anything, XBL is the main selling point for the system. Plus the lack of HDD makes the games run slower that use the HDD to cache information. |
I read somewhere according to microsoft 40% of 360's aren't online.
It's just like, once Epic said, 50% of Unreal Tournament buyers on PC never took the game online. UT is a game specifically made for online, and half the buyers didn't go online.
So, if you aren't online, you really have no reason for a HDD on your 360.
....And Microsoft has already said that Core purchase rates (vs. Elite and Prems) are on the rise.
MS made the right move with the core - not everyone NEEDS a huge hard drive. Like Shark said, MS has stated multiple times that 60-70% were online. That leaves 30-40% of owners without online. So what % actually need over 512mb of save space? Some might, but not everyone.
And again, I'll always have my antecdoal info when I was @ launch: parents were buying cores for thier kids, not premiums. Parents that buy systems don't care about specs, they care about price. The core has a much better price....Therefore, it's very important for holidays.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
