Despite supreme confidents from posters like outlawauron, I was skeptical that a niche game like Atelier Rorona would ever get a western release. The game simply did not have a heavy draw factor when compare to the big hitters coming west such as SO4, WKC and FFXIII.

But lo and behold! I was proven wrong when NIS Europe confirm that a western release is in the work.

Oh happy days.

After years of neglect, the PS3 seems to be getting many many JRPG in a very short timeframe:

2010 JRPG for EU/US:
* Atelir Rorona
* Final Fantasy XIII
* Resonance of Fate
* Star Ocean 4 International
* White Knight Chronicles
* Tale of Vesperia (not confirmed but pretty much a given

All are are expeced to hit the first half of 2010... wow what a year!

It looks like the good news for PS3 RPG fans just keeps coming, this time in the form of the PS3 Exclusive RPG Atelier Rorona. The news comes from the European PlayStation Blog and Allison Walter, Product and Development Manager for NIS Europe and America.

When asked about news on Atelier Rorona, Allison Walter had this to say.

I can now answer! Yes, we are working on Atelier Rorona right now. It should be coming out in English and French next year. Thanks for reminding me to talk about it!

The game, which was released in Japan on June 25th of this year is the eleventh installment in the Atelier series, and continues the series’ emphasis on item synthesis. No word has been mentioned yet on a US Release but we are confident that NISA will bring this over to the States.

Indeed, the PS3 has become the JRPG king of home consoles, its about time to.

And don't forget Last Rebellion ! It was first scheduled for a 2009 US release, but expect a 2010 since there are no news, and also the trinity game by Koei planned for a 2010 release in the West.

End of 2009, and 2010 will be fantastic for JRPG fans.

About time! I want my RPG's too! :) I expect a Persona 5 somewhere in 2010.

I still think that Xbox 360 edges it at the moment (well definately in the West) it still has games like Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon as exclusives, Final Fantasy will be released on both systems and versus is still light years away.
