NYANKS said: That's pretty win. Now alot of people seem to dislike this game, so can someone explain any fail that this game may possess? |
Well the game is not that bad, its even good, but it could and should have been much better. I think they had problems with multi-disc. Let me explain:
In the time of the PS1, on multi-disc game like FF 7, the memory problem was because of the CGI. At disc 3 of FF7 you can revisit all the area from the game without having to switch disc, same can be said of all the multi-disc of PS1. But, with games nowadays, its not CGI that takes memory, it is the graphic for the game itself. Star ocean 4 felt like the story and quest was arranged so you wouldnt need to go back, it was easier for them to make a bland story considering that you cannot go back to more than few hours of play because it would mean switching disc. Forget about hiding ultimate weapon and hidden things all around the game because it would become a switching fare and not good for reviews. There was a quest on disc 2 about a bunny race that you needed to level up the bunny in order to win race and earn special prizes. While I was on disc 3 I decided to do this quest. So I had to synthesize items on disc 3 in the spaceship, then go on disc 2 gave the item to level up the bunny, then on disc 1 to grab item needed for synthezising on disc 3. I had to switch disc each 5 minutes for 2 hours (im really serious), at the end of the 2 hours the bunny was still not fast enough to win all the races so I decided to stop loosing my time with that.
It seems obvious to me, that multi-disc is a big problem nowadays on big games like RPG. I dont know how they are thinking of doing FF 13 but I cannot see how they could hide special things (quest, ultimate weapon, special bosses) like they are use too since they need to use multi-disc on xbox 360. I hope they dont truncate there usual style so that people dont switch disc, but obviously they dont want consumer to keep switching disc. So I guess it would be faire to expect FF 13 to have less stuffs than the other FF game at the end, or all the stuff will be in the final third of the game. They will also need to arrange the story in consequences, let just hope they do it better then tri-ace with star ocean 4.
