Momentum has slowed dramatically from last year, so if they don't worry then the lower the Wii interest gets, the harder it will be for them to regain it. |
You could be right if after this week Wii has other bad weeks, but what we know from past experience is that bad weeks have always been quite isolated and followed by good ones up until now. And a bad Wii's week is still numerically equivalent to satisfying PS3 or XB360 weeks.
Obviously, if I am right, and the truth may also be with you or somewhere between, we don't know yet, Nintendo shouldn't wait for PS3 to grab 2nd place to react, as this would give Sony enough momentum to reduce the gap between 1st and 2nd, and this would be bad for Wii, the cut will be necessary if the current 2nd shows a trend towards exceeding Wii sales or if PS3 keeps enough momentum to overtake XB360 and its average sales are enough to start attacking 1st place after grabbbing 2nd, but in this case, only when the gap from 3rd to 2nd is getting so thin to not last more than a few months.
