Forums - Sales - Nintendo: "Currently no plans" for Wii price cut

hummm, that's very strange... anyway, the brochure isn't a fake because toy rus, we will see in october... In france there is no rumor from the retailers, but that will help cause the wii is diving since beginning of 2009... even in france, the sells ar very quite: it's the nintendo commercial who told me that... I think tendo have to make a price droop!

I'm thinking its a short term cut to clear out stocks of the Wii SPorts Bundle, get rid of them in time for the NSMB Wii bundle

But NSMB Wii comes out a month and a half after this promotion. Would they have so much stock they need that much time to clear it?

If they've been manufacturing around 2-2.5 million Wii's a month, they might have millions, of course, even then, it would probably sell out like gangbusters anyways, so we'd have a couple of weeks with bare shelves, and long lines again

they're so not manufacturing 2 - 2.5 million a month anymore ...

In order to hit their projection of 26 million, they'd have to be doing around 2.1-2.3 million a month

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Not Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros, 2D 4-player gaming is perfect for the market

Surely they have abandoned the idea of selling 26 million this fiscal year, unless they do have a price cut planned. Even then ..

Haven't we heard this before? Sony and MS also denied imminent price cuts earlier this year, doesn't mean one's not coming, only they don't want to announce it yet.
