Yeah, a console with less than half the installed based force Nintendo to cut the price because - it was going to catch up!?

The fact of the matter is that IF this price cut is for real, the Wii has been at its original MSRP longer than any system has - its arguably due for one - and I doubt the Slim or $299.99 Elite are a threat to the Wii - the Wii would outsell them both this holiday anyways.

With that analogy, M$ is getting its butt handed to them. They have cut the price of the 360 a number of times now and again when Sony dropped theirs. I guess they don't think they can compete with the PS3 if the price point is close.......considering the PS3 was outselling the 360 at its high price until the 360 dropped theirs. After that the PS3 was within 50,000 units every week. So the PS3 drops its price a hundred and sells 550,000, M$ drops there price 100 at the same time and sells less than 200,000. Yeah.....PS3 is Doomed.

Prices cuts happen in the videogame industry. A price cut isn't a sign of anything until you see how it pans out. If it pulls Sony even with Microsoft, or gets them ahead in ongoing sales, how is that weakness? I take your post as an attempt at humor that failed.

LOL!! I love it, as it obvious that NEITHER system was ever Doomed, but fanboys love to screem this out anyways when a price cut happens.

Not sure what the TC is talking about. I don't think many people are disappointed about a PS3 price cut. This isn't hurting anyone really. Wii's and XBox 360 will still have a great holiday, but probably not as great as last year due to the recession and even more people out of work.
