A few hours ago I saw a thread with a toys'R'us ad saying a $50 price drop was headed our way. Now, it's on all the big sites (Gametrailers, IGN, 1up, etc.) and keeps on spreading.

Do you think this will cause Wii sales to drop for the month of September much like the PS3 dropped with PS3 price cut rumors?

I think the September month will definately be lower, whether the price drop is real or not (looking more likely every day), it might even be possible for 360 to have a bigger month along with PS3 thanks to ODST, marking the first time Wii has ever taken the 3rd seat for a single month. However if the rumors are true, and a price drop comes in October, It will easily be back on top.

It wont drop as much as the PS3 did, but it wont rise as high either.

If enough people believe it, they'll hold off buying and sales will trickle. It may come to the point where nintendo's hand is forced
