Forums - Sony - Uncharted 2 can FALL short of expectations...IF?

@ non gravity you cant take the cutscenes out. Can you rip a bunch of pages from a book to make it shorter. MGS needs them, sit back with a brew and enjoy them.

OT Hopefully it is a longer single campaign. The multi looks class for afters. Hopefully you can choose the difficulties. If its too hard choose easy. I hated unlocking difficulties in the first. I'm bored by the third playthrough. Drakes 2 WILL be a beauty tho. Its out on my B-DAY too!!!!!

@non-gravity

which parts, for how long?

we know nothing of that game mechanic yet

what we do know is in MGS4 theoretically you can play the game without killing anyone & without a single alert phase (barring bosses)

in Uncharted 2 can you do that.....no.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

^^^I just want the bad guys to die with a reasonable number of bullets, and not yell out "HE'S HERE!" when there was no way they should have known that I was there. Aside from those two small complaints, the first Uncharted was just swell. I'll be getting U2 on day one and I'm pretty sure it'll be satisfying.

On PSB, a naughty dog dev said that there was about 1 1\2 hours of cut scenes, so I have to assume that the game will be longer.

Hey I'm only trying to compare MGS2 and U2 with not so strong arguements.

MGS4 11/10

Uncharted 2 12/10

Basically, the op believes Uncharted 2 will fail if it is exactly the same as Uncarted 1? That's just fanboy web hit bait. Uncharted 2 will fail if it is not similar to Uncharted. Don't mess with the recipe of success. Yes, you can make Uncharted longer, but not if that means more repetitive corridor based action or a dreadful tank/cave sequence. Yes the plotline is amateurish with your typical blindsiding plot twist, but that's the way it is for all video games. For many, Resistance 2 strayed too far from RFOM and their was an outcry.

Even at 7 hours Uncharted is longer than some AAA titles. The inclusion of MP and Coop will give it the replayability that everyone wants.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

No replay value??? I have played it 3 times. Then again Trophies will do that :P

  Unleash The Beast!

End of 2011 Sales: Wii = 90mil, 360 = 61mil, PS3= 60mil

Is the story that much worse that let's say an Indiana Jones movies?

And had you rather not had a Nazi U-Boat in the middle of the jungle? It may not be realistic, but it's certainly amuzing.

reason 2 is fucking stupid. So Nate can't have a sense of morality?

I disagree with the reasons mentioned. And having been in the first beta I can safely say that the multiplayer is awesome. Not to mention the story is 1 / 3 longer.

The original drakes fortune was truly awesome in all ways, the only issues i personally had with it were the fact that it took 3 headshots to take someone down, and that there were some times where it was just.. move to this location, fight off enemies, move to next location, fight off enemies. A thing they seem to have resolved in this. That being said... I really hope theres some mystical elements of uncharted 2 like the original had. I was truly not expecting the mutants and despite some peopel whining, it was a awesome section of the game.
