Forums - Sony - I bought LittleBigPlanet right after playing the Demo.

Well title says it all. I bought LittleBigPlanet after playing the demo right through. I've always had somekind of interest in LBP ever since it was announced but I never got that 'feeling' where my thoughts tell me "I MUST GET THIS!". Ever since after it's launch, I kinda wanted it but at the same time, I didn't wanna buy it since I feared it wouldn't be the type of game for me (I just love FPS, Action/Adventure, fighting and RPG). So when it came out last year, I bought Resistance 2 over LBP. This year, I bought Killzone 2 over LBP and later on, Street Fighter IV over LBP (I had choices). So pretty much I've just been playing Killzone 2 the whole year until just two days ago. I heard the news that the LBP demo was out and I downloaded it to try it out and man I was blown away.

The visuals, controls, creativity and the level of fun was extrodinary!! It was something that was just right for me. I was sucked right into it. No demo has ever made me wanna buy the game rightaway after only playing it for about 15 mins. I went out after playing, bought it for AUD$40 (cheap for a PS3 game here at Australia) and I've been playing non stop. Though I still yet have to create my own level, I'm just having so much fun with the story alone. Incredible game. Now I can truly see why it was awarded over 70 awards and 26 of them were GOTY.

I don't have any regrets however that I bought Resistance 2, Killzone 2 and Street Fighter IV over LBP. They're all superb games. I just wish I'd bought this earlier with either one of those games instead of having to choose this or that.

Thank you MediaMolecules for releasing the demo and I look forward to your next title and thanks for making the "Play, Create and Share" genre an ejoyable experience.

I look forward to playing other people's levels in LBP.

All I can say is you should have waited for GOTY version.

You bought Resistance 2 over LBP?

And you DON'T regret it?

I'm scared.

It just goes to show that releasing a demo for a game before or on launch of the game itself will increase sales as i'm sure if there was a demo when the game released you would have either bought it then or bought it before now anyway!

Glad that you are enjoying the game, it is amazing! Bring on Modnation Racers

@sabby: I would've however the GOTY edition isn't coming out here at Australia and I really couldn't wait for it to come out. That is, if it's ever gonna come out here.

@kantor: Yep I don't regret it. I enjoyed Resistance 2 a lot but not as much as Killzone 2. I know there's been a lot of criticizim about R2 but I enjoyed it.

So you didn't hear about the GOTY edition coming out soon with US$30 worth of extra contents?!?!?

If you can, return it and wait for the (Superior)GOTY version.

The normal edition is probably way cheaper, and he could easily buy some worthwhile content with the standard version for less than $60 and not be stuck with the Monsters pack.

@halil: And if you read my post carefully, you could work out that I live in Australia. I dunno how many people here are from Australia or know about this but games here at Australia are bloody expensive!!

When the PS3 first came out, it was retailed for $1000 and I got it discounted to $700 for trading in my PS2 and 20 games.

PS3 games here are hell expensive. I see on the net all the time how US$60 is the full retail price of major games but here it's $100~120. I have 12 PS3 games so far so you can imagine how much money I spent on buying them. Over $1000. Hell if I was living in America, I could buy at least 16 big title games at $60

I'm from Australia. RRP for PS3 games are 120, but you can get them for about 100ish if you go to some other stores other than EB games.

GOTY edition will most likely cost about 87 on launch (JB prices here). Meaning he can use the 47 that he saved and buy 47 bucks worth of DLC that he wants, not the ones that are packed in with GOTY edition.

Good to hear you're loving it ^^
