So i turned it off from the back AGAIN and restarted it...i quickly backed up my PS3 onto a flash drive and haven't touched it since.....I did vacuum clean it though..

Anyone else had YLOD with 40GB PS3s ? 


had my 40gig since they came out, its been running daily ever since.

but the ylod seems to be an intermittant fault akin to the rrod, sony should have some cover in place if they dont thats bad customer service.



...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

I've had a white 40GB PS3 imported from Japan in April 08 and since then I've never had any prolems (except my fan is quite loud). Hope your PS3 is ok.

Putting your PS3 in a microwave for 3 seconds tends to help with that problem.

Same but the ps3 is so sexy it just had to go out in the open air on display for eveyone to look and be jealous over it lmao.

 

I would love to know what people do with the consoles though because i have neve had a console go tits up on me before.

It's most likely an issue with the Uncharted + Firmware 3.0 problem. It usually just freezes. I had this happen to me the other night after playing Uncharted for 2 or 3 hours. All I had to do was to reset it (always with the power button on the front), and it played fine for the hour or so it took to finish the game. But not to worry, Sony is aware of the issue is is currently working on a fix.

Somewhat off topic: Damn, Uncharted is fun. And I love the trophies and rewards.
