Forums - Sony - Is Sony back on top?

Well, most PS fans became PS fans because media made it fun to joke about Nintendo. They were all Ninty fans in the past, and they... follow what is fashion?

Or something.

Thats simply not true... You are right that a lot of ppl have been Ninty fans but honestly... 2 generations have been for the ass! N64 was way of too expensive concerning cartridge games and GameCube had an awful support by 3rd parties. That is why I chose to switch to PS2 not because of some assholes who say what is IN or OUT. And since then I stick to the Playstation brand... more graphical power, no waggle controls - yes I also bought Wii but got disappointed in a way I will never buy Ninty again, at least not before I have children on my own - games for adults.

The topic itself is funny... 2 see all Box fans switching their opinion. I dont care which system will win this gen I just hope PS3 gets all the games now that M$ bought to prevent a PS release... With a bigger userbase the prices to afford buying out rise drastically and M$ will have to consider if it is worth it - that is the only thing I really appreciate about the new strength of the PS brand! Everything else is not new to me since I enjoyed games for PS3 before when nobody realized the strength of the dark side ;)

Life is short... It is all about priorities!

I am a Freerider 4 life, no matter if on a surfboard in the sea, a snowboard or ski in the mountains or the combo with a kite in the plains... Adrenaline's my engine and better than any video game can ever be - Check it out! ^.^b

portable consoles are great i have a psp personally, but that's down to my own preference really, my daugther has a ds tho, and i can see the charm of portable gaming, but still my ps3 gets more attention than all of my consoles combined and let me clarify i own a ps2, psp, ps3 and a wii

it's the future of handheld

People forget though that even though sony may not be pulling in huge profits now, according to the whole ten year thing, they still have 7 years of console and software sales. During this time the manufacturing cost would be down to a profitable point, the console will become cheaper and the latter markets which PS2 later covered after the PS3 release, such as younger children, third world countries and random gamers, will still be buying. Obviously it won't beat the Wii but to say that a console out for 10 or more year's vs the 360 which will most likely live to 6 won't come second is silly. Sony will make a profit eventually, not to the same margin as their previous console but one reasonable enough to keep them in the competition next generation.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I believe Sony will come back.
Doubt they will catch the Wii but I'm pretty sure they'll catch 360

it might beat the 360 in 2010 but i highly doubt it will beat the wii. Nintendo has this gen in the bag

yeah the media already declared ninty has won, what faith...
they way i see it tho, is wii still needs to keep peopl insterested in the wii for a long time to come because it is already using seriouly outdated hardware how long before the hardcore (small amount yes i know) users finally get fed up with what it has to offer, and they really have to watch sony with the new motion controls they are bringing out, still they won't be nicking any existing casual customers as normally they are not interested in upgrading, but maybe they can nick off with potential casual users in the future

Whats most funny about all this is that before the pricecut for the last 2 and a half years the ps3 has actually outsold the xbox worldwide. But according to the media the ps3 was struggling while the xbox was selling gangbusters. If it wasnt for the huge strengh of the Yen we'd have seen a $299 ps3 last fall. Now that would of been interesting.

no....but they're on the move

Short answer: no

Long answer: noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Is it just me or there are far more xbox360 fans making threads like these than Ps3 fans? and then when xbox is doing better again you guys are gonna point the finger on ps3 fans for threads like these.

I Agree somewhat, i can only name a few on here who hasn't changed there minds, but i'd be willing to bet many 360 only owners at the start really wanted a PS3 first or wanted one later...
