People forget though that even though sony may not be pulling in huge profits now, according to the whole ten year thing, they still have 7 years of console and software sales. During this time the manufacturing cost would be down to a profitable point, the console will become cheaper and the latter markets which PS2 later covered after the PS3 release, such as younger children, third world countries and random gamers, will still be buying. Obviously it won't beat the Wii but to say that a console out for 10 or more year's vs the 360 which will most likely live to 6 won't come second is silly. Sony will make a profit eventually, not to the same margin as their previous console but one reasonable enough to keep them in the competition next generation.
Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.
