Reminder: PS3 just sold 550,000 in one week.

Week MGS4 Debuted Ps3 sold like 440k consoles in 1 week and continued to outsell the 360 for most of the year iirc. Sales level off, Ps3 won't have 500k every week. The gap wont close up as fast as people think. At least I don't think it will.

Gap decrease ~350,000.

It will probably close by about 200k-300k more for September, then they will level off to about even with the 360 picking up steam as it nears the holiday months.

Since the gap as it stands at the moment is 7.84 million between the two consoles (not taking into account any adjustments to the numbers, which i'm sure given the recent NDP information there might be) i would imagine the Gap to be at about 7.50 million or lower at the end of the month!

the gap was decreased by ~300k last week. a gap decrease of about half a million for the month sounds reasonable to me.

Current gap - 7,840,000

12th - Xbox 360 - 150k / PS3 - 280k

19th - Xbox 360 - 145k / PS3 - 200k

26th - Xbox 360 - 170k / PS3 - 180k

I'm going to predict a gap decrease of 800,000 for September. 412k more in 3 weeks seems reasonable considering it outsold by 388k in the 1st week.
