"Sony Computer Entertainment of America has released some impressive statistics regarding new PlayStation 3 sales for the first week of September. Sony’s top retailers have reported a 300% lift in PS3 hardware sales and an increase of 140% in total hardware revenue, since the launch of the Slim model on September 1. These statistics from the first week of September are in comparison to the week before the $299 price cut.

In addition, Sony cited the August OTX industry survey, which shows that out of the top 10 titles gamers are most looking forward to, five of them are on the PS3, including God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII, Gran Turismo 5, and Modern Warfare 2. Sony also said it will release more than 25 exclusives through the holiday season and into early 2010."
