-Enhanced Wii with DVD movie playback coming to U.S. -
They never gave a date, and as far as I can tell never said they stopped working on it.
-December 9th,2006 - one million more Wiis to U.S. before the end of the year - I don't see any reason to think they didn't meet this goal.
-More hardware secrets of Wii revealed at launch - Revealing info is bad?

Non-Lies?

That comment about the Wii's graphics making you go "Wow" was in response to internet talk about the Wii being just a slightly enhanced Gamecube.  It was implied that the Wii's launch games would look significantly better than the Gamecube's games (I mean otherwise why even say it?).  How many Wii launch games looked significantly better than Resident Evil 4 and Twilight Princess?

The Enhanced Wii with DVD movie playback was confirmed for 2007.

The December 9th, 2006 comment was about Reggie's promise to have one million Wiis delivered to stores before the end of 2006.  Nintendo the next day put out a press release backing away from Reggie's promise.

The hardware secrets being revealed at launch was something that Perrin talked about that never materialized.  Websites when she originally made the comment had articles speculating what the hardware secrets would be, after the Wii's released they wrote followup articles about how there weren't any secrets.  The exact same thing happened with Reggie's September surprise.

Anyways I made the original post because of comments other people had made (seeming to portray Nintendo in a different light than Sony and Microsoft when Nintendo has broken just as many promises, actually many more in my opinion, than Microsoft).

I've never excused Microsoft for lying about how bad the RROD problem is, I was just trying to point out that Nintendo executives have broken promises about many different things when it comes to the Wii.  To prove my point, list 10 broken promises that Microsoft made about the 360 (RROD issue counts as 1).  I posted about 16 for the Wii from ones that I remember clearly being broken (there're more that I could list, some from Miyamoto even, but this is already turning into a Nintendo fans trying to spin things so why bother).

I like Nintendo the best but I keep getting disappointed by delays but they make it up by having awesome games at the end.

"Like you know"

Sony executives lie a lot. Nintendo delays more than every company combined. And the Xbox 360 was built so bad in the beginning I don't think I would ever trust one. Overall, all of the companies are OK and these private companies certainly do a better job at making systems and being honest than any government in the world would. Also, at least they are not Sega :)

currently playing: Desktop Tower Defense (PC), Puzzle Quest (DS), Trauma Center New Blood (Wii), Guitar Hero III (Wii), Ghost Squad (Wii), Actraiser (SNES), Donkey Kong County (SNES), The Legend of Zelda (NES), Kirby's Adventure (NES)

will play next: Paper Mario (N64), Golden Axe II (Sega), NiGHTS (Wii)

I don't really keep track of these things, but here are some things I do recall:
1.  RRoD is not happening much.
2.  RRoD is not happening very much.
3.  RRoD is not breaking records for most faulty video game hardware ever.
4.  We'll take good care of you if you get RRoD.
5.  1080p doesn't matter.

You act like the reality about the RRoD situation is not a completely unprecedented catastrophe in the industry.  Any other system that was even half as defective got an instant recall, not a half-assed warranty extension.

You want to hear an example of what Nintendo fanboy spin would be?  Fact: 50% of all shrapnel deaths inside the US since 2005 were caused by exploding ThreeShittys.

I want to cut through all the noise and details now, Legend11.

1. Sony's marketing department has been completely psychotic ever since the ad campaign for the launch. Possibly even increasingly so.

2. Microsoft's hardware, with absolutely no exaggeration, has had the worst failure rates seen in the industry for at least 20 years and probably ever.

3. Nintendo's conduct and product have been neither mentally nor physically broken.

Nintendo does not have to be some kind of saint to win against that kind of competition.

Final-Fan sums it up pretty well.

I don't claim Nintendo as a perfect consumer company, I'm not delusional. But the idea that Nintendo is some how worse in this department than Microsoft is silly and very wrong.

@Legend11,

Non-Lies, as in comments that weren't lies. Lets define....

Lie: A lie is an untruthful statement made to someone else with the intention to deceive.

The comment about launch games making you say "Wow" is completely subjective. Just curious what was the date this was stated anyways? It seems likely that the games they were referring to were delayed. Thus failing the test for "with intention to deceive".

Well, 2007 isn't over yet. Who knows maybe this was the September surprise and they pushed it back some?

If they went back on the comment the next day I don't see what the big deal is about...? So he said something, then came out the next day and said "Sorry I was mistaken, we won't be able to meet that goal.". I really don't see that as a lie, making a comment and finding out you were wrong and doing nothing is more reprehensible, but still not a lie.

As far as the hardware secrets thing, I was following the Wii pretty close leading up to launch and I don't remember much about this. But I do remember that there was some talk that people had the wrong specs and as far as I know that issue hasn't been resolved yet. They have been fairly tight lipped about the Wii specs for the simple reason that they don't want people who don't understand hardware to draw a bunch of false conclusions.

Just to be clear, I don't see a streak of lies here. I see a streak missteps and mistakes that look a bit sloppy overall. But when you compare this to the rest of the industry it is commonplace. And really a lot of this stuff is an exercise in extreme nitpicking.

edit: I don't want to get into a tit-for-tat debate on this stuff.  Aside from the fact that it would quickly devolve into something meaningless, the OP asked the question "Among the 3 companies, who do you think is the worse and why?".  And MS is a lot bigger than its gaming division....
