Final-Fan sums it up pretty well.

I don't claim Nintendo as a perfect consumer company, I'm not delusional. But the idea that Nintendo is some how worse in this department than Microsoft is silly and very wrong.

@Legend11,

Non-Lies, as in comments that weren't lies. Lets define....

Lie: A lie is an untruthful statement made to someone else with the intention to deceive.

The comment about launch games making you say "Wow" is completely subjective. Just curious what was the date this was stated anyways? It seems likely that the games they were referring to were delayed. Thus failing the test for "with intention to deceive".

Well, 2007 isn't over yet. Who knows maybe this was the September surprise and they pushed it back some?

If they went back on the comment the next day I don't see what the big deal is about...? So he said something, then came out the next day and said "Sorry I was mistaken, we won't be able to meet that goal.". I really don't see that as a lie, making a comment and finding out you were wrong and doing nothing is more reprehensible, but still not a lie.

As far as the hardware secrets thing, I was following the Wii pretty close leading up to launch and I don't remember much about this. But I do remember that there was some talk that people had the wrong specs and as far as I know that issue hasn't been resolved yet. They have been fairly tight lipped about the Wii specs for the simple reason that they don't want people who don't understand hardware to draw a bunch of false conclusions.

Just to be clear, I don't see a streak of lies here. I see a streak missteps and mistakes that look a bit sloppy overall. But when you compare this to the rest of the industry it is commonplace. And really a lot of this stuff is an exercise in extreme nitpicking.

edit: I don't want to get into a tit-for-tat debate on this stuff.  Aside from the fact that it would quickly devolve into something meaningless, the OP asked the question "Among the 3 companies, who do you think is the worse and why?".  And MS is a lot bigger than its gaming division....
