The publishers can offer whatever they want, its up to the integrity of the reviewers to decline these gifts. A 13 year old girl can offer sex to whomever she wants, (I think) but noone is allowed to take her up on the offer.

No she can't. That's abetment, which is illegal in most countries.

If they were truly trying to bribe them they wouldn't be public about it... common sense people, although I can't say if 200 USDs is low or high for a video game reviewer or not.

But the point is that it was public in the first place, and it's obvious that the reviewers can't check it and then completely tarnish their journalistic integrity... in PUBLIC >.
