Hey guys & gals,

I know you've all seen these threads a million times but I'd appreciate a little help choosing games. I recently was given a 360 (yes, free). Problem is its Chinese so if it goes the ole RRoD route I'm royally screwed and I have to import English, preferably region free games which are probably pricier... but it was free so what the hey!

Things to bear in mind:

Please only mention true exclusives as I already have a PS3, and Gaming capable PC and will be buying games in order of PC, PS3, 360 somewhat varying dependent on genre and of course exclusivity (worried about RRoD).

Please feel free to include X-box Live arcade games, although I'm not on Live yet, I intend to be.

I already have Gears1 & a few multiplats (got with console), and don't bother mentioning Gears 2 (getting), Halo Wars (getting), Halo 3 (unlikely unless its very cheap) or Fable 2 (getting) as I've already decided whether to get them or not. I really want to know what gems are out there that might not have been heavily publicised. Also, I'm getting GT5 so I don't see the point of getting Forza 3 (please, I don't want a GT5 vs Forza thread, my mind is made up on this).

Feel free to look at my games collection as to what you think I might prefer.

Finally, does anyone know if I can export my Games for Windows Live ID to the 360?

why are you unlikely to get Halo 3, its awesome,
get dead rising, crackdown, ace combat 6, Lost Odyssey, they're all awesome, and ODST when that comes out very soon

Having played Halo 1 & 2 on PC, I've been pretty unimpressed with the series. Halo 3 was great fun in co-op though, but the series is just not my cup of tea. I completely forgot about Ace Combat 6 and Lost Odyssey. I'm more of a Western RPG player. I start JRPGs but tend to stop midway unless they have the words "Final" and "Fantasy" in them, but I've heard nothing but good things about LO. What's the battle system like? I tend to find most JRPG battle systems drain me by midway unless the story is truly sublime.

Sounds to me like you're already getting a good library of games there so not sure what else you want...

But since you mentioned XBLA, you should get these: Braid, Geometry Wars 1/2 (both are great), Shadow Complex, Monkey Island.

Get Alan Wake, Risen, Splinter Cell Conviction, Fable 3 and Halo: Reach. U dont need much more.

Get Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, and Kameo.

Getting it live is definitely the most important thing! Then you can download demos for quite a few retail games and trials for EVERY game on live arcade.

Apart from that Dead Rising is a must have imho. Kameo and Perfect Dark are worth getting and Condemned is also worth checking out you did not play it on PC.

All the multiplatform stuff you probably know about already...

And since I am using my Gamertag on Windows you should be able to use yours on you Xbox!

I know this thread is dead, but I'd thank everyone that posted. I've got myself on Live with my PC gamertag (same as my username) and on the recommendations above and some of my own research I'll be getting:

Halo Wars (I quite enjoyed the demo and being an Ensemble fan this is my first choice)
Gears 2
Lost Odyssey
Fable 2 & 3
Alan Wake
Splinter Cell Conviction (as long as its not on PC)
Ace Combat 6
Braid

Halo 3 when cheaper (on play-asia, thanks for the list Lord Flashheart)
Shadow Complex undecided
