YEP THATS DQ6!!!! wOOOt!!!

From my recent experience, I've enjoyed DQ4 way more than FF4 remakes on DS. Maybe it's because the gameplay is quicker and more fluid or maybe because I really like Akira Toriyama art style. Either way Dragon Quest is a really good series and if you give it a try you shouldn't be disappointed.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

toriyama never learned to draw in any other style, and never made other character designs.

It's not about not learning to draw in any other style. His style is his brand, and it's what makes his work immediately recognizable to his fans.

What you're saying is sort of like saying that Charles Schultz could have never drawn anything that didn't look like Peanuts if he wanted to. Toriyama is just doing what brand artists do, delivering work that their fans will immediately tune in to.

Much like how American Dad looks the same as Family Guy. It's much easier to grab your core audience when they can spot your work immediately.

Not to mention in Japan, Akira Toriyama is one of the biggest character designers there is.  He's one of the few character designers who can sell a game based on his attachment to the game alone.  Look at Blue Dragon or the Tobal fighting series.  And its debatable to say that Chrono Trigger got so popular because it was done to simulate his style of storytelling and art design (though it is one of the best SNES RPGs and probably JRPGs period).

Also, that's excellent, we're finally going to see some footage of DQVI.  Though probably not going to get to play it for another 2 years (unless you import it).
